He was a civil engineer,who went to the USA in 1880.
He was a surveyor for the Leesburg Real Estate Association in 1886.
Thereafter he worked for Morrison,Stapylton and Co.,as a bank teller.
Gustav was the secretary of the Leesburg Fire Company from 1887 through 1890.
The family shortly thereafter moved to Savannah,Georgia where Gustav and his son disappear from US public records.
Gustav married Harriet Susan Routledge [1134] [MRIN: 642], daughter of James Routledge [1132] and Sarah Barber [1256], in 1888. (Harriet Susan Routledge [1134] was born on 7 Jan 1848 in Lambeth, Surrey, England.)
